Kimi Doll [Finished!] : Sewing Supplies






WHEW. Man was that HARD. I didn't think that doll would take so long - but we (my mother and me) managed to finish on time. This video WAS very long and well done. BUT WWM was being an idiot and frustrating - it kept deleting my video before I could publish it. So I had to go with this short crummy one back it was too frustrating to redo the video AGAIN. :P So as soon as I heard about this contest I knew I had to enter. And I had to do something different - no, animation wouldn't cut it.. Then I knew it - a doll, I knew very few people would do that because it's so time consuming.. So I told my mom and she decided to help me out. :) First, we (me and my mother) went to our local sewing supplies store: Joann Fabrics, and got all the supplies we would need. (Pattern, thread, fabrics, felt, etc.) Then we looked over the pattern at home and pinned it to the fabric. We proceeded to cut it out. (Pinning & Cutting is my mom's least favorite part of sewing because it's so teditious.) Afterwards we started work on the face - first we would need some photos to work by though. We printed out from nice shots of Kimi and started working. We cut out the eyes, hair, nose, and ears in proportion the photos. We had to go out and purchase some special fabric glue to make it stick - Elmer's Glue won't do crap for us. After getting it, we glued on the pieces, then my mom sewed the ears, and stitched the eyes, and nose on using embroidery floss. (which is often used for cross-stitching. it ...
